Life With Our Children.

April 2012 - A trip to St Lucia Estuary

We  want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of you that made this blessed trip to the beach of St Lucia a reality for us and our children. We must say it was very rewarding: we had a wonderful place to stay at the self-catering Joalize Lodge at the generous invitation of Johan and Elize Combrink. We were invited for a Guided Tour through the west coast of the estuary thanks to the generosity of Jess from Euro Zulu Guided Tours and Safaris and Paul, our guide and driver, who patiently and passionately taught us about many different plants and wild animals seen on the park. We enjoyed every minute of it, and even the cold wind added to the excitement of the experience.

We also had an invitation to spend a day in Cape Vidal to see the wild life and enjoy the beach but we couldn't make it in these 2 short days and 3 nights of our stay. Thank you anyway Johan Gerber.
Then we have the wonderful restaurants from St Lucia, Ocean Basket and Sand and Reef Pizza that generously offered and a nice meal for all of us. Quintus Smalman from the Total Garage on the N2 filled the tank as he does every year we go there. And last but defenitly not least we want acknowledge Robert Bonzair from Waterberg Toyota in Modimolle that so faithfully and cheerfully services our car free of charge for the last 6 years.

What more can we say? Except remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how He said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. Acts 20:35

October 2011

We had a special week at the end of October. Five of our children plus their own children (4 grande children) visited us from Durban and Pretoria. It was quite nice to have them here and we enjoyed them very much.
Of course, Sara, with her arm still immobilized could not do much special cooking for them as she was planning, so what happened is that everybody else pitched in to cook, clean and have fun together.

Samantha. She is 2 years old and was born in Phillipines. Cute and smart. She likes to try everything and imitates her sisters all the time. Her parents: Sammy and Anna

Arween, 6 years old, from Simon and Charmini. She lives in Durban.
Always very meticulous and mature in her conversations and playing.

Liney (3 years old, from Sam and Anna, born in Phillipines) is very sad in this picture.
Aside from that she is very loving and obedient.

Finally, Dava (5 years old) from Sam and Anna, also born in Phillipines.
Can't keep quite and has always something exciting happening.

Singing Activities

Jennifer Beatriz is quite busy in her singing and playing. Along with her colleague and singing partner, Courtney, they are performing almost every weekend now and quite successfully. A fantastic way to keep them busy and in the right direction. They sing very well and have good teachers and coaches. Again we are extremely thankful that we are surrounded by such good Christian families that really care for their children.

School Activities

Jennifer (right) got 4th place in High Jump for all national schools.

Arwen loved to play with Jenifer.

The beach guards did not let them swim and I was very thankful for that,
because there were strong currrents
Where is my towel?...Im so coold

We could not have chosen a better time to go to Durban. Alan and Jenifer were looking forward to go to the beach even though is winter, but as soon as we arrived so did the rain and the cold.
But their mind was set on it and as soon as we could see a little more light in the dark skys, off we went wraped in our winter jackets. As you can see they had lots of fun

While we were on the beach it snowed on the mountains and on our way back
from Durban, we couldn't resit to take a picture. First snow we saw in SA.
