Footprints on the rock

I stumbled upon the fact that there is a giant footprint on granite relatively close to where we live here in South Africa. It's an amazing discovery yet hardly known. It sure proves the veracity of the Bible like nothing else does. For more details about this giant footprint visit the following websites:

Interested in knowing more about these giants on the Earth mentioned in Genesis 6:4 I found an interesting Bible Study about this subject.

Giants on the Earth

There has been much speculation about the sons of God mentioned in Genesis 6. The incident involving angels and the daughters of men is mentioned not only in the Bible, but in many other Christian, Jewish and Muslim writings. Many scholars believe that these Fallen Angels, as some call them, because of their strength, intelligence and spiritual powers, became mythological gods in various ancient cultures. This opinion is corroborated by so many Bible verses that it merits a class on the subject.  The foundation verses for it are the following

Gen 6:1  And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

Gen 6:2  That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

Gen 6:3  And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

Gen 6:4  There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Gen 6:5  And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Gen 6:6  And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

Gen 6:7  And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. (KJV)
A very key verse here is Gen 6:4, so, in order for you to fully understand it, here it is in another, more modern version.
Gen 6:4  The giants were in the earth in those days, and even afterwards when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore to them; they were heroes which existed from ancient time, the men of name.  (Literal Translation of the Holy Bible)

Although we don’t exactly know when the Nephilim arrived on earth, you can see traces of their presence already in Genesis 4, when poison arrived in paradise. By then man had been taught how to make fire and Tubalcain, (which means, an offspring of Cain), learned how to make weapons and tools out of iron and brass. The Book of Enoch, which was considered canonical and is quoted by Jude, tells us how these Fallen Angels influenced mankind:

And Azazel taught men to make swords, and knives, and shields, and breastplates, and made known to them the metals of the earth and the art of working them, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the use of antimony, and the beautifying of the eyelids, and all kinds of costly stones, and all 2 colouring tinctures. And there arose much godlessness, and they committed fornication, and they were led astray, and became corrupt in all their ways. (Book of Enoch, Chapter 8)

The progeny of the fallen angels with the daughters of Adam is called in Genesis 6, Ne-philim, which means fallen ones (from naphal, to fall). What these beings were can be gathered only from Scripture. They were evidently great in size, as well as great in wickedness. They were superhuman, abnormal beings; and their destruction was necessary for the preservation of the human race. This was why the Flood, which is dated around 2400 BC, was brought "upon the world of the ungodly" as Peter says.
2Pe 2:5  And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly.
But we read of the Nephilim again, after the Flood in Numbers 13:33 : "there we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak, which come of the Nephilim". How, it may be asked, could this be, if they were all destroyed in the Flood ? The answer is contained in Genesis 6:4, where Moses (c.1300 BC)  wrote: "There were Nephilim in the earth in those days (that is to say, in the days of Noah); and also AFTER THAT, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became [the] mighty men (Hebrew gibbor, the heroes) which were of old, men of renown" (or, heroes of old). So that "after that", that is to say, after the Flood, there was a second irruption of these fallen angels, evidently smaller in number and more limited in area, for they were for the most part confined to Canaan, and were in fact known as "the nations of Canaan". It was for the destruction of these, that the sword of Israel was necessary, as the Flood had been before. As to the date of this second irruption, it seems to have happened during Abraham’s time (c. 1800 BC), for, when he came out from Haran (Genesis 12:6) and entered Canaan, the significant fact is stated: "The Canaanite was then (that is to say, already) in the land." And in Genesis 14:5 they were already known as "Rephaim" and "Emim.
Gen 14:5  And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emims in Shaveh Kiriathaim.

It is certain that the second irruption took place before Genesis 14, for there the Rephaim were mixed up with the five nations or peoples, which included Sodom and Gomorrha, and were defeated by the four kings under Chedorlaomer. Their principal locality was evidently "Ashtaroth Karnaim"; while the Emim were in the plain of Kiriathaim (Genesis 14:5). Anak was a noted descendant of the Nephilim; and Rapha was another, giving their names respectively to different clans. Anak's father was Arba, the original builder of Hebron (Genesis 35:27. Joshua 15:13; 21:11); and this Palestine branch of the Anakim was not called Abrahim after Abraham, but Anakim after Anak. They were great, mighty, and tall (Deuteronomy 2:10,11,21,22,23; 9:2), evidently inspiring the ten spies with great fear (Numbers 12:33). They were probably much bigger than today’s giants, as the spies saw themselves as small as a grasshopper when comparing with their size.

Num 13:33  And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
